Chrysler 300 Letter Series 7.0 V8 top condition, Bare-Metal restored, only 1.324 mad 1961

General description : We have the pleasure of presenting this 1961 Chrysler 300 G, one of the luxury, high-performance, so-called ‘Letter Series’ Chryslers. It had a limited run of only 1,324 cars. The G has been fitted with 7.0 litre ‘Wedge’V8 with twin 4-Barrel carburettors and a special Cross-Ram inlet manifold. The375 Hp it produced was really quite impressive for 1961. A Dutch Jeep/Chrysler dealer imported this car in 1988, where it took pride of place in the showroom for the next 18 years. The last owner, a German gent, bought the car in 2010. Once it had arrived in Germany it was given a full Bare-Metal restoration and engine rebuild. Photos show that even before the restoration the bodywork was in great condition. This German restoration is of the utmost quality. The superb bodywork has straight and perfectly fitting body panels. Every piece of decoration and chrome work is as good as new. The underbody certainly does not disappoint and one would be hard put to distinguish it from a new one. As one might correctly expect, a complete record of all works , including 100’s of photos, has been kept. It was crowned ‘Best Restored Car’ in 2012 at the Rallye Historique Schloss Bensberg and ‘Star of Classic Gala’at the 2017 Classic Gala Schwetzingen. It has a factory-fitted “Push-Button’ automatic, power brake/ steering, leather interior trim, front Swivel Seats. Golden radio with electric aerial, rear windscreen heating and two side-mirrors. About Chrysler
The Chrysler Corporation, one of the "big three" was founded by Walter Chrysler in 1925

Apart from artdeco(isque), airflow and airstream models, Chrysler's early years may lack lustre in design terms but not in technical. Their list of early automotive "firsts" includes Floating Power i.e. Rubber engine mounts, replaceable oil filters, downdraft carburetor, and four-wheel hydraulic brakes.

Things were to change after the war, Exner revived Chrysler production car design with the sleek, sculptured Forward Look designs of 1955 that transformed the product line overnight. The flagship in 1955, Chrysler 300, came with HEMI power. The 300, arguably the first muscle car, became a legend on and off the race track and set records throughout the 1950s, The Legend of Hemi was born.
