Chrysler Windsor 383 1961

General description : This 1961 Chrysler Windsor 2 Door Coupe (Stock # R12068) is available in our Redwood City, CA showroom and any inquiries may be directed to us at 650-276-5400 or by email at Sales@SpecialtySales.com. Exceedingly Rare 1961 Chrysler Windsor Coupe New to our Redwood City showroom is this highly collectible 1961 Chrysler Windsor 2 Door Coupe with white exterior paint and an Aqua interior. It features its factory 383 CI V-8 engine under the hood with the numbers-matching 4-speed automatic transmission, plus this one comes nicely equipped with power steering, power front disc brakes, and a factory radio. This model is in very nice original condition as well and the current owner states that there are only around 5,000 miles on the rebuilt factory engine. It is believed to have a mere 92,770 original miles on this highly desirable vehicle as well, although we cannot certify that statement at this time. One of Only 2,200 Produced The current owner of this 1961 Chrysler Windsor Coupe spent over five years searching for this rare two-door model and simply could not find it anywhere. He eventually stumbled on this one up in Canada, and he partially restored it himself. While it is not quite in perfect condition, this beauty is very clean throughout and it drives like a much newer vehicle. With good power, smooth shifting and nice handling, this is likely the nicest example on the market at this time. Unfortunately, the current owner is moving out of state and forced to sell it, so his loss can certainly become your gain. The two-door models of the 1961 Windsor have always been favored by collectors due to the sportier look and feel, which is why they rarely surface on the open market anymore. Nicely Maintained & Very Nice Running Condition Overall, this rare 1961 Chrysler Windsor Coupe is in very nice shape and it is believed to be one of the few remaining two-door examples anywhere in the US. If youre a fan of this iconic model then youd better not let this one slip away at this price, because the chances of ever finding another example in this price range are literally slim to none. For more information about this vehicle, visit our Redwood City, California showroom, give us a call at 650-276-5400, or email us at Sales@SpecialtySales.com. About Chrysler
The Chrysler Corporation, one of the "big three" was founded by Walter Chrysler in 1925

Apart from artdeco(isque), airflow and airstream models, Chrysler's early years may lack lustre in design terms but not in technical. Their list of early automotive "firsts" includes Floating Power i.e. Rubber engine mounts, replaceable oil filters, downdraft carburetor, and four-wheel hydraulic brakes.

Things were to change after the war, Exner revived Chrysler production car design with the sleek, sculptured Forward Look designs of 1955 that transformed the product line overnight. The flagship in 1955, Chrysler 300, came with HEMI power. The 300, arguably the first muscle car, became a legend on and off the race track and set records throughout the 1950s, The Legend of Hemi was born.
