Ferrari F355 GTS 1998

General description : Ferrari, that one word conjures up thoughts of super cars, luxury, wide open roads, racetracks, speed, and style. The best that Maranello Italy has to offer!
This 1998 Ferrari F355 GTS is powered by a 3.5-liter DOHC V8 matted to a paddle-shifted six-speed F1 gearbox. The Pininfarina design body is finished in Modena Yellow over black leather. Features include a removable black Targa top, 18″ five-spoke magnesium wheels, pop-up headlights, a Challenge-style rear grille, aftermarket front turn signal lenses and taillights, Capristo exhaust, automatic climate control, and a Sony CD stereo. The current owner acquired the car in April 2022 and completed an engine out service in November of 2022. This F355 GTS shows 7k miles and includes the tool kit, spare parts, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller's LLC.
The unmistakable style of this Ferrari with the flying buttress C-pillars, a vented engine cover, air intakes on the doors and rocker panels, an integrated rear decklid spoiler, and quad exhaust outlets giving off the undeniable sound that only a Ferrari can make. A ceramic coating was applied to the body in November 2022 to help keep the paint protected.
Beautiful five-spoke 18' magnesium wheels are mounted with 225/40 front and 265/40 rear Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Red-finished Ferrari-branded brake calipers are mounted over vented discs at each corner.
The cabin features sport seats trimmed in black Connolly leather, and matching leather extends to the center console, door panel inserts, and dashboard. Amenities include automatic climate control, an aftermarket Sony CD stereo, power windows, and drilled aluminum pedals. The seller notes that the interior buttons have been refinished.
Once inside, you will hold the leather-wrapped steering wheel which is equipped with paddle shifters and frames the 200-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, a gauge for coolant temperature, and a digital gear indicator. Ancillary instruments in the center stack include an analog clock and gauges for fuel level and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows 7k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership.
Power comes from the Ferrari mid-mounted 3.5-liter DOHC V8 featuring five valves per cylinder and dry-sump lubrication for a factory-rated output of 375 horsepower and 268 lb.-ft of torque. An engine-out service was completed in November 2022, and work performed at that time included repainted valve covers, a coolant flush, and replacement of the following components:
• Timing belts and tensioners • Water pump and seals • Thermostat and gaskets • Camshaft seals and O-rings • Fuel filter • Battery • Spark plugs • O2 sensors • Belts • Hoses • Fluid changes • Brake master cylinder
Power is sent to the rear wheels through an electro hydraulically operated six-speed F1 gearbox. A Capristo valved-exhaust system was fitted in November 2022, and the transmission oil was changed at that time.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration history in Ohio, Oregon, Mississippi, and Montana.

About Ferrari
The first Ferrari road car was the 125 S introduced in 1947 and powered by a 1.5 L V12 engine, right?
Well it's not quite that simple, Ferrari did in fact produce e Tipo 815, in 1940. Tipo 815 was designed by ex-Alfa Romeo engineers Alberto Massimino and Vittorio Bellentani and by Enrico Nardi under Enzo's company but legal issues with the former associate Alfa Romeo prevented Ferrari from launching the Ferrari marque at that point.

Enzo did produce a series of fine road cars in the 50's and 60's but they were merely to finance his true passion racing, wheather GT/Sports car or Grand Prix. The 50's saw the birth of Ferrari's most memorable cars, 250 GTB (tour de France) 250 Testa Rossa, 250 GT swb just to name a few.

Under the surface tension was growing though. In November 1961 long-time sales manager Girolamo Gardini made an ultimatum to Enzo: if tensions continued, he would leave the company. As a result, Gardini was ousted, as well as Scuderia Ferrari manager Romolo Tavoni, chief engineer Carlo Chiti, experimental sports car development chief Giotto Bizzarrini, and a number of others who stood by them.
Without Chiti and Bizzarrini the development of what was to become the most quintessential Ferrari and today the world's most expensive car, 250 GTO, was at a pivoting point. 250 GTO project was saved by a young engineer Mauro Forghieri and long-time racing bodyman Sergio Scaglietti who stepped in and took over the program with known results.

In addition to 250 GTO, Ferrari launced such master pieces as 250 LM, 250P, 275 GTB, 365 GTB/4 "Daytona" during the the 60's
By the late 60's Ferrari's prototypes' success came to a sudden halt by a new competitor, GT40. Ford turned to Lola to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after Enzo had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that gave Ferrari some heavy hits in Le Mans 24 to come.
By the end of the 60's FIAT purchased 50% of the company, starting a development that has led to a new mass-produced era of Ferraris.
