Ford 5-Window Coupe 355 V8 1931

General description : 1931 Ford Model A - 5 Window Coupe The Model A was Ford Motor Company's second huge market success following in line with the Model T.  Interestingly not only did it have huge success originally but had a revival later in life as this era of car became a staple in the hot rodder and custom car community.  Being that they were one of the most common cars in their time they were well represented in the media so it is no surprise they were a go-to for show car enthusiasts.  Unfortunately due to their steel construction they have slowly become harder to get your hands on over time.  That is what makes beautiful all steel cars like this 5 Window Coupe so awesome to sill have around.  This car was very well built and combines "old school" touches with performance and modern upgrades to create the ultimate Hot Rod.  The current owner purchased the car in 2012 out of Houston, Texas and it has been used as a fair time weather weekend show car since being completed.  With only 446 miles on it since finished the car still looks very fresh.  The solid steel body is in excellent condition and painted in a 1977 Ford Vista Orange base coat/clear coat paint that has an excellent finish.  You see so many of these cars getting cut up during their modifications so this one being unchopped actually makes it really stand out in a great way.  A 32 grill shell has been added up front and it also has a recessed firewall.  The grill has a nice shine and is framed by large chrome circle headlights.  In back it has LED tear drop taillights and all of the electrical is working properly.  The glass is all in good shape and the car still has the pop out front windshield.  It rides on a set of Weld Racing wheels with BF Goodrich tires and very cool knock off style center caps in back.  The car is run without the hood to show off the 355 V8 roller motor that gets those tires turning.  It has been dressed up from top to bottom with nice chrome valve covers, a polished intake, Holley Street Avenger 750cfm carburetor, chrome air cleaner, Cool Flex hoses, billet brackets, polished pulleys, a custom oil pan and so much more.  The block and heads are also painted to match the body for a clean cohesive look.  In fact the entire TCI chassis and a large number of undercarriage components are painted to match making it very worthy of showing off.  The car sounds great and with headers and cutouts into 3 inch exhaust through Thrust mufflers.  Cooling is provided by the aftermarket Walker radiator with a large electric fan.  Combined with the engine is a 700R4 automatic transmission and Ford 8.8 inch rear end.  The car does come already with a painted extra pos-track rear pumpkin.  The 6 inch drop axle is nicely painted and a large portion of the exposed suspension is all polished or chrome.  Underneath the car a power brake booster has been hidden and it has disc front/drum rear.  The electrical is an EZ Wiring harness and the list of high end components goes on and on.  It also has a Vega steering box and the car runs down the road great.    The interior is all custom and completed in a beautiful Ivory ultra leather.  It is extremely clean and very luxurious and modern.  It has dual bucket seats that are very comfortable and feature lap belts.  The carpet is all very nice and it has a Lokar shifter mounted to the floor.  The dash is painted the same Vista Orange and topped off with Omega Kustom gauges that all work properly.  Underneath the dash a Vintage AC system is in place with nice adjustable vents.  In front of the driver is a custom Billet steering wheel on a tilt column with all polished levers.  Behind the seat you will find the Optima battery mounted with a kill switch.  One very cool feature of this car is the trunk has been finished out as a rumble seat.  The upholstery is just as nice as the rest and below the seat bottom is extra storage space. This is an extremely cool classic with that complete Hot Rod style.  It has been meticulously cared for and looks like a freshly built custom car.  It gets attention everywhere you take it and is a regular show winner.   This beautiful car could be in your garage for $49,500.00!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
