Ford F-100 427 V8 1966

General description : 1966 Ford F100 Pickup When Ford unveiled their F series pickup to the world in 1948 a legend was born.  Production continues to this day which is a testament to their popularity.  In fact, they are so popular that since 1977 it has been the best selling truck in the United States until 1981 when it became the best selling vehicle overall.  This cool 1966 was the last of the fourth generation and is a really neat pickup.  It is a SWB flareside model and is painted in a really cool Suede Black.  That is then accented with Red and White pinstriping with very cool weathered old school "So-What Speed Shop" painted on the side in the So-Cal style.  The front/rear chrome bumpers are new and look great as does the stock style front grill.  All of the glass on it has been replaced in the past.  Very cool louvers line the hood and tailgate which has a reverse handle on it.  On the bed it has a hard tonneau cover and underneath is where you will find the fuel cell and battery with batter box.  The wheels on it are painted Red and topped with very cool full moon stainless hubcaps.  The tires are Mickey Thompsons and it does have a wider tire in rear. The truck runs great and under the hood is powered by a factory roller cam 351 small block ford motor.  It was well built and features a F303 roller cam, Scorpion roller rockers, flat top pistons, GT40 heads, custom headers, chrome 427 sb valve covers, a chrome dual plane intake, FiTech fuel injection, a Summit billet distributor and custom plug wires.  Paired with that is a built up Ford C6 connected to a custom driver shaft and U joints to transfer back to the trac loc positraction Ford 9 inch rear with 3:50 gears.  The rear springs on it have been rebuilt and it also features bolt on traction bars.  It also got a rear lowering kit on it and up front it has dropped I beams.  The truck has a great sound through dual exhaust and when you want to ramp things up can open up the electronic cut outs.  Power steering has been added to it as well as power 4 wheel disc brakes.  Inside the truck it has a bench seat with Black upholstery.  Up top there is a fiberglass headliner as well as overhead switches for operating various things.  The dash features a cool combination of Red with a Black dash pad which is in good condition.  It has custom gauges in a Ford bezel that has an engine turned back drop.  In front of the driver sits a custom 3 spoke steering wheel on top of a Black painted column. This is a very cool truck with a unique old school look that is sure to stand out.  Take this hot rod Pickup home for $26,000.00!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
