This former desert truck, with all original body panels, is a great example of a classic Ford pickup, only with big-block power. During the Disco Era, Ford’s F-series became the best-selling truck in the US in 1977 and we at MotoeXotica Classic Cars are pleased to offer this F-100 Custom.
This example was made in Ford’s Truck Plant in Wayne, Michigan and was shipped off to the Chicago, Illinois sales area (DSO code 41). Finished in silver metallic paint, the truck’s color really pops in sunlight. It also contrasts nicely with the black grille and blacked out front side marker lights. The bodywork is straight solid, no surprise since this truck came from arid Arizona. The engine bay is extremely tidy, the battery is in very good order and a bedliner protects the cargo bed. The chrome bumpers are in very good order.
This truck rides on Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires, size 275/60F15 tires at every corner. Each tire is mounted on a chrome alloy wheel. The tires have plenty of tread and are in very good shape, as are the wheels. This truck rides on a rebuilt suspension with front lowering springs. The truck rides on a 117-inch wheelbase and it has a 5,250 gross vehicle weight rating.
Under the counterbalanced hood is a massive Ford 460 CID big-block V-8 engine, rebuilt with a street cam and it breathes via dual side-exit exhausts. There’s also a Weiand intake manifold and an Edelbrock air cleaner. Certain engine parts, such as the spark plug wires, are finished in blue to complement the silver exterior color. Backing this engine is Ford’s C6 SelectShift Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. Driver convenience features include air-conditioning, power steering and power brakes.
Inside, the new black upholstery looks great on the front bench seat with a center fold-down armrest between the high backrests, as does the matching black carpet. The black headliner is in satisfactory order. A three-speed aftermarket steering wheel with a wrapped rim. The instrument panel and inner door liners are in great shape and the silver contrasts nicely with the black. There’s a full suite of gauges in the dash. A column-mounted shifter completes the interior considering the radio delete option was chosen. This truck has some needs as the A/C compressor is not engaging and blower motor, the fuel gauge and speedo/ODO are also inop. The truck runs strong and drives out nicely and is sure to turn heads.
Nineteen seventy-seven models received a redesign of exterior trim, with the cowl insignias made smaller and moved near the windshield. The bed received a rectangular fuel door to conceal the gas cap. The fuel tank located behind the seat was discontinued due to safety concerns.
Competition to this F-100 in 1977 included Chevrolet’s C10 pickup, Dodge’s D100 pickup, GMC’s C10 pickup and Jeep’s J10 pickup.
If you want to return where it all began; when Ford ascended to the King of the Hill on the pickup sales charts, stop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars today to check out this classic truck.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
