Just Toys Classic Cars is proud to present this awesome 1962 Ford Fairlane 500 Sport Coupe. Ford fans have been in love with this car for years. This particular model was light weight, and you could get a V8 in it. That meant that the Saturday night stop light scene was loaded with cars like this one. The fit and finish on the Grabber Blue paint is right up there with the best of them. It is miles deep and you would not be afraid to drive it every day.
As you will see in the pics, the interior has been redone as well in black vinyl and blue cloth. Everything is right and tight on this interior with no rips or tears. These interiors were very simple, but very clean, and this one was a fine example. Everything is very comfortable and you can cruise around with 4 people comfortably.
Under the hood is where the business end of things takes place. This light little car has a 306 under the hood putting out about 300 HP. Sure, that may not sound like much in today's modern horsepower war, but remember that this car only weights about 3000 pounds so you put your foot down on the loud pedal and it will efficiently get you down the road. This is mated to a C4 automatic transmission and everything exits out a stock Ford rear end with a 3.00 rear gear.
This is just one of those cars that was fun back then, and still fun to drive to this day. It is a very good looking and very reasonable hot rod. This needs to be in your garage today and at your local cruise night asap. When you buy this car you will have a hard time getting the ear to ear grin off of your face. About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.
In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.
In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
