Ford GT 2020

General description : Ford GT Gulf Racing Livery 650HP 6 Speed.
The 2005 Ford GT is a high-performance sports car produced by Ford as a modern tribute to the original Ford GT40, which achieved notable success at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the 1960s.
The 2005 Ford GT is powered by a mid-mounted 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine.
The stock engine in this GT has updated supercharger pulleys and now produces 650 horsepower and is mated to a Ricardo 6-speed manual transmission. Performance is key with the GT that can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in approximately 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of around 205 mph.
The design of the 2005 Ford GT pays homage to the original GT40, featuring a sleek and aerodynamic body with classic racing stripes. The GT we have here takes this homage to another level after being converted into a Heritage Edition with Gulf Livery paint scheme.
Ford produced the GT in limited numbers, with approximately 4,038 units built over its two-year production run, from 2005 to 2006.
The legacy lives on as the 2005 Ford GT are highly regarded as a modern classic, and its limited production numbers, performance, and design have made it a sought-after collector car.
Now some background on the 2005 Ford GT we have here at RK Motors in Charlotte, NC.
This 2005 Ford GT was first delivered to Miller Ford in Baltimore, MD. It was sold to its second and current owner who is from North Carolina.
This Ford GT is a very special car as the second owner always wanted a Heritage GT from a very early age. This four option Ford GT was originally red with white stripes and when it came time to convert the car over to a Heritage Edition the current owner was very careful who he picked to fulfill his childhood dream and spared no expense of the conversion. So, he sent his car to the GT Guy in Rockwood MI. Both Rich Brooks and Denis Breitenback of the GT Guy LLC shop lead the team for the Ford GT project responsible for the development and delivery of the 2005/2006 Ford GT to market. Who better to have this GT taken care of then the two men who worked on the Ford GT development program!
During the conversion process, the car was completely taken apart so it could be painted in its current Heritage colors. All ford logos, stripes, numbers, and Gulf logos have all been painted on the car unlike the Heritage from the factory which came with decals. The rear bumper was deleted, and grilles installed. All original parts are still available and will come with the car.
In addition, the wheels and gas cap were painted in a satin black matching the side skirts and spoilers. The calipers were painted Orange with Ford GT painted in black.
The interior is covered in leather and Alcantara suede. The stitching was outlined with orange thread.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
