Ford Mustang 4.6L V8 F DOHC 32V 1997

General description : Gateway Classic Cars is proud to offer this 1997 Mustang Cobra. Hold on to your seat as you look this thoroughbred Mustang Cobra over, you may lose your pants. This Cobra is Fast and Furious. Judging from the exterior this Mustang can easily be mistaken as normal, or a regular version Mustang Cobra. This venomous Cobra has potent power and is the ultimate sleeper. “A sleeper is a car that has high performance and an unassuming exterior”. Sleeper car exteriors appear similar or identical to a standard or economy-class car and in some cases, it appears worse due to seeming neglect on the owner's part, commonly referred to as "all go and no show.’ While appearing to be a standard car, internally they are modified with higher performance levels. This monster is packing a 4.6 extreme built motor. It is probably easier to ask what’s not been done to this motor, rather than what has been done. There are 84,000 miles on the frame and 3,000 break-in miles on the freshly built motor. The beastly engine consists of Manly Forged Pistons, Eagle 4340 Rods, Eagle Crank, Clevite Main and Rod Bearings, Felpro Gaskets, new oil pump, new timing chain and guide, Ford Racing 60 pound injectors, AEM 340 High Output Fuel Pump, Accufab Ellispe Throttle Body, Procharger High Output Intercooled Supercharger System, 3.1 pulley (9 pounds), SCT BA-2600 Big Air 90 MM MAF Sensor, Snow Performance Stage 1 Water and Methanol Kit (kicks in at 6 pounds of boost), MSD Coil Packs and Wires, Moroso Coolant Expansion Tank, HID Headlights and Foglights, Competition Stage 3 Clutch, and 3.73 gears. The car will make close to 700 horsepower with the correct pulley setup. Currently, this “Monster” is making 575 horsepower and 420 foot-pounds of torque. You can hear the Hooker Headers exhale through a BBK Offroad X Pipe and SLP Loudmouth Catback Exhaust. The interior has been upgraded with Corbeau LGL Wide Black Racing Seats, MOMO Steering Wheel and Hub, and AEM Black Faced Gauges. Gauges consist of TRU Boost, Wideband, Oil Pressure, Water Temp, Hurst Short Shifter, Rear Seat Delete Kit, and Viper Alarm System. Exterior shows well with XXR 531 wheels powder coated black. You will get plenty of traction with TOYO Proxes Street Radial 315/35/17 rear tires. The 3-inch Cowl Hood and Saleen Style Wing adds just the right touch of styling. Additional options include AM/FM Radio, Cassette, CD Player, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Locks, Power Windows, Anti-Lock Brakes, Power Mirrors, Seat Belts, Passenger Airbag, Cloth Interior, Radial Tires, Racing Wheels. About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
