Ford Mustang II Hatchback 302 V8 1978

General description : This 1978 Ford Mustang Cobra II Tribute is a low-mileage V8 hatchback that knows how to get attention. So while you first spot the bright look and T-top appeal, the deeper you dig, the more you're also going to love it for it's true classic style.
This was the final year for the Mustang II, and Ford really made sure the Cobra was going to grab attention. So this one is correctly done with its factory-correct Bright Red paint still looking so vivid. These have an attractive full color package where the bumpers and sport mirrors are even body colored. So your largest area of brightwork might just be the slotted mag wheels. There are wide spoilers front and rear, hood scoop trim, and louvers for both the back and quarter windows. And the white racing stripes are so detailed that they go over the full body and wrap below the bumper. Plus, can't miss the classic triple rocker stripe and big cobra logo on the side. But while this is a bold total package, don't forget to look at the fundamentals, too, like the quality of the body panels and doors that close with confidence.
T-tops always make for a more enjoyable driver's classic. More than just a wind-in-your-hair experience, this one is going to have you opening up to the world just so you can show off the red and white that goes so well with the exterior. White upholstery always has a premium style, especially when it remains looking this clean and detailed. This also has plenty of handy features, like an armrest center console, fold down rear seat, and provisions for factory air conditioning (it will need servicing to function again.) The brushed aluminum instrument panel has a sporty appearance, and the large speedo and tach has a cool/classic look. This Mustang really keeps a true vintage style, right down to the AM/FM radio with working 8-track.
This was born with a 302 cubic-inch V8, the largest engine in the pony car's stable. In fact, the engine bay has the honest look of a stock machine, right down to the emissions decal still on the valve cover. But you can also see plenty of the right investments made here, like the Champion aluminum radiator, new air cleaner, gas tank, and an updated dual exhaust. It makes for a good mix of a survivor-style look that also has been cared for correctly so that it's also a smooth driver that's easy to enjoy. Plus, you have good anytime driving features like a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes w/front discs.
The sale comes complete with the Marti Report that shows many of this car's most interesting features were there from day one. So you can see that this Cobra tribute is not only a cool classic, but a well preserved one, too. That makes for quite an appealing package, especially for this affordable price. Call today!!!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
