Finished in Ming Blue coachwork with Carmel Nappa hide, quilted central cushions with deleted piping to the edge of the seats. Wilton carpets throughout including the boot. Body coloured de-mountable hard top, trimmed to match the main hide, Black leather top roll, door tops and sun-visors with double red stitching – exquisite detail. Dark Blue electric mohair soft top with a matching hood bag, central laced chrome wire wheels with 225/60/ R16 Yokohama tyres and two ear spinners fitted.
The thought, planning and all important attention to detail which goes into the build by the talented men of Beachman is to the highest standard of quality and exceeds the work carried out by Jaguar Heritage. This is not just another restored car fitted with a later generation engine and few other items added but completely re-engineered masterpiece. Upon viewing you know will immediately that this is a special bit of kit! Larger air scoop under the front bumper, bigger Jaguar chrome competition wire wheels. The period clunky chrome handles have been removed and replaced with XK door handles neatly fitted. When opening the door the micro switches spring into life and the window lowers a 1/4 inch as with your every day sports car.
The cockpit oozes detail and thought, the hand brake has been counter sunk into the out sill with Wilton trimmed around and bound in leather. This has been done to maximise cabin space, to allow more room for the later generation seats which are fitted. The top roll is redesigned and incorporated with a modern windscreen demister operated by digital dual zone climate control now installed. The instrument facia is trimmed in Black Nappa leather and brings the chrome bezels of the instruments to life. The top roll, windscreen pillars, door tops, sun visors and gear knob are all trimmed in the same Nappa hide with double Red stitching running through – beautiful. Sitting directly in front of the driver is a beautiful Nardi steering wheel with polished spokes. The steering column is electronic and adjustable with cruise control switches and bluetooth buttons housed around the steering wheel.
At the heart of the car, is the proven 4.2 litre Jaguar XKR unit with Supercharger. Transmission is the highly regarded 6-speed electric ZF box, 0-60 in just under six seconds and top cruising speed of 150mph – Push the Red start button and the Beacham sounds like gentleman’s dragster as it propels you down the highway!
Accoutrements and equipment:
Having covered just over 1,280km since it was built, the Beacham will not disappoint and in our view, exceed all expectations- it definitely exceeded ours!
