Pontiac Tempest 196 Cu In 4 Cyl 1962

General description : Very Affordable Drop Top

Just Toys Classic Cars is very proud to present this beautiful and rare 1962 Pontiac Tempest LeMans convertible. They didn't make many of these and you will be hard pressed to find many in this condition. This car went through a complete body on restoration down to bare metal and you will see the pics to prove it. This was a very solid car to begin with and it is as beautiful now as it was when in rolled off the line in 1962. It would cost you a lot more than what we are asking to do a restoration like this on this car.
The interior of this sweet drop top is as clean as the outside. The white on white with the black accents just set this car off. This car just takes you back in time with its AM radio, "flip lever" shifter on the dash, and classic looks. This is just one super clean car that needs to be in your garage today.
Under the hood is the numbers matching inline 4 cylinder and mated to the original transmission and rear end. This straight 4 cylinder has a great bit of torque because if you look at it closely it is basically half of a 389 block. The next motor up was the 215 HP buick V8. So this 4 cylinder is almost the size of 8 cylinders. Go have fun with this one.
This is just an awesome car. Again, you couldn't find the car and restore it to this level for what we are asking. This is why you need to contact us today and make this yours. We offer classic car financing for those that would like to take advantage of the option. They offer great rates and terms with as little as 10% down. This way you can get the car of your dreams and don't have to take all the cash out of the bank at once. You can start that dream today by going to http://www.justtoysclassiccars.com/financing and fill out the easy step by step application. We look forward to speaking with you soon and we look forward to making you the newest member of the Just Toys Classic Cars family.

Position in GM Hierarchy:
Distinct Identity: Pontiac occupied a unique place within GM, known for its performance-oriented vehicles and youthful branding.
Mid-Level Brand: Positioned above Chevrolet but below the more upscale divisions such as Oldsmobile, Buick, and Cadillac, Pontiac aimed to offer affordable yet sporty cars.
History and Notable Models:
Pontiac GTO (1964-1974):
Iconic Muscle Car: Considered the first true American muscle car, blending performance and style.
Specifications: V8 engines, powerful performance, and aggressive styling made the GTO immensely popular.
Pontiac Firebird (1967-1981):
Muscle Car and Pony Car: Shared the platform with the Chevrolet Camaro, featuring distinct Pontiac styling cues.
Variants: Offered various models and engine options, including the Trans Am, which gained fame through movies like "Smokey and the Bandit."
Pontiac Grand Prix (1962-2008):
Personal Luxury Car: Initially a full-size car, later transformed into a mid-size model, known for its blend of comfort and performance.

Pontiac Bonneville (1957-2005):

Impact and Legacy:
Performance Image: Pontiac carved a niche for itself by emphasizing performance, sportiness, and innovation, attracting younger and enthusiast drivers.
Marketing Success: Innovative marketing strategies and successful racing endeavors contributed to Pontiac's popularity and brand image.
Cessation of Production: Unfortunately, due to financial constraints and changes in consumer preferences, GM discontinued the Pontiac brand in 2010, marking the end of its legacy in the automotive industry.
