Pontiac GTO 400ci Ram Air III 1969

Allgemeine Beschreibung : 1969 Pontiac GTO - Judge Pontiac was an early adopter of the new muscle car market with their GTO and many even consider the car as starting the trend among all 4 domestic automakers.  In 1963, management from GM banned all divisions from being involved in auto racing.  Following this ban, Pontiac switched focus to emphasizing street performance.  To create the GTO they combined the second generation Tempest with the larger motor from the Grand Prix completely disregarding GM's policy of a maximum engine displacement for the A-body intermediate due to a loophole.  The GTO was well received and went from being a trim level to its own model.  This 1969 belongs to the second generation of GTOs and was a special year for the cars.  A new model called "The Judge" was introduced with the name coming from a comedy routine performed by Flip Wilson on the TV show "Laugh-In".  Some of the slogans used were "All rise for the Judge" and "The Judge can be bought".  The idea was to compete with the Plymouth Road Runner by including various features including the Ram Air engine.  This very clean 1969 GTO is a true Judge Ram Air III hardtop that looks great.  It was built in the Arlington, TX plant and sold out of the Young's Pontiac dealership in Mineral Wells, TX.  It currently belongs to the family of the 2nd owner who purchased it in 1972 and it has remained in the Dallas/Fort Worth area since new.  It comes with a lot of receipts and a PHS report.  The car was originally the Mayfair Maize color but was changed to Black around 1970.  It has all those neat Judge features like the rear spoiler, Ram Air hood, and drivers side hood tachometer.  The Black paint has a beautiful finish and has all of the correct style decals and the side accent stripes.  The chrome rear bumpers have a great shine as does all the stainless trim.  The glass is good throughout with no issues.  All of the exterior lights are working properly and it has the very cool hideaway headlights sitting in that iconic split grill front end.  The car rides on its original Rally II wheels with new Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires.  The drivetrain on the car is all numbers matching and has been verified by David Oakley.  It has its original rebuilt 400V8 Ram Air III (366hp) motor paired with a rebuilt 4 speed M20 transmission and original rebuilt rear end with 3:55 gears.  Within the last 2 years a ton of mechanical work has been done on the car which is documented by receipts that come with the purchase.  It received many new components including a new Holley 750 cfm carburetor, new EFI distributor, new wires, new alternator, new spark plugs, new main seal, new battery, new cables, and more.  All fluids were flushed/changed and it received a new stainless fuel tank with new fuel pump.  The car starts up and runs well.  It shifts smoothly with a brand new McLeod clutch, new pressure plate, new arm throw out bearing and new flywheel.  It sounds great as well through the 2.5 inch dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers.  It has factory power brakes which were rebuilt throughout with 1/4 inch lines, a new master cylinder and all new wheel cylinders.  The shocks have all been replaced and it also has factory power steering which is a nice additional feature. The interior is all in excellent condition.  It was originally Black but was redone in the Parchment color which came out of a wrecked '69 GTO.  It looks great contrasting the Black paint and the fact it is real GTO factory material is very cool.  It has dual bucket seats up front with a factory center console and Hurst shifter.  The dash is all Black and features the stock style wood trim.  It has all of its original gauges but a second gauge pod has been added below the dash.  In front of the driver is the correct 3 spoke wood grain steering wheel which is in great shape.  The trunk looks good and the floors are all solid.  It houses a spare in an embroidered "The Judge" tire cover.  This is one very cool classic muscle car that is quite desirable.  They had limited production numbers and having the history plus documentation is very special.  Plus the car has lived in the DFW Texas metroplex since brand new which is a pretty unique find.  It is a collector level car and an important piece of muscle car history. Add it to your collection for $150,000.00!
