Uprated performance brakes fitted – using AP Racing callipers, discs plus a host of other tailer made touches.

Finished discreetly in the most iconic of period colour combinations of Cumberland Grey metallic coachwork (license to kill 007) with light Tan hide. Cannock Black Wilton carpets edged in Black leather, AM flying wings over carpets embossed in Wilton and Burr Walnut veneer. Having been returned back to its home this example has been subjected to a nut bolt no expense spared restoration by Aston Martin Works Service, which is fully documented and photographed within a 42-page folder. The attention to detail and high level of workmanship is world-class and if anything better than new – as per the brief set out.

There has been a huge amount of thought gone through each step of the restoration process to modernise and improve the overall running, safety and driving experience. The gearbox has been converted to a 6-speed automatic designed by Aston Works resident engineer. It incorporates a fully controlled 6-speed automatic transmission with turn shift patterns for improved drivability, optimised power delivery and most importantly overall improved power – with the latest CAD testing and compatible with the heritage V8.

The brakes where next with the fitment of some serious stopping power AP Racing performance brakes where chosen – with 6 pot callipers and larger brake discs fitted. The new setup allows more efficient vehicle braking, a result of the larger surface area between the friction surface.

Roos Engineering of Switzerland special glass was chosen and fitted to improved sound insulation.

Bespoke instrumentation gauges were fitted, directly replacing the originals. The gauges ador a white face, red letting, red needles and chrome bezels. A gear position display was tailor-made and positioned direct centre with (PRND) that accompanies the new 6-speed automatic conversion and the famous AM wings added to tie in with the car for detail – no small detail overlooked.

For added safety, a high-level brake light has been sympathetically incorporated just below the rear window screen. GENTEX rear view mirror fitted and painted in soft-feel paint, colour coded to match the headlining and survivors. The driving lights were changed to Halogen units to light up the road for high-speed night time driving.

Standing proudly wearing it Works Service enamel badges to both front wings, regimentally placed discreetly countersunk into the wings so as to be in flush within the paintwork, this ‘Big X’ really is a king amongst its peers. Original factory built LHD X-PACKS rarely become available to the market because of there rarity in numbers there where only 36 cars built worldwide and it has been over 3 years since we last had the pleasure in having a car available. Examples of this cars pedigree and standard are without a doubt a unique opportunity to be able to present and truly an asset for any collection.
