Everyone loves the sleek look of Ford's first post-war design. It was fairly groundbreaking when it first appeared, which is why it became the darling of the custom car crowds. This legacy is taken to a new level as you look over all the work on the exterior. The ultra sleek body is free from clutter like door handles. This allowed for a modern shade of Wineberry Candy. There was a huge investment in the paint alone that it's so smooth, you'll swear the top coat was made of Crisco. And of course, a custom built '50s machine is not complete without some great brightwork. The custom toothy grille looks amazing and the bumpers are so mirror-like that ladies will use them to check their lipstick. But also take some time with the details. The louvered hood, integrated fender skirts, dual spotlights, custom tail lamps, moon hubcaps with whitewall tires, and the lake pipes that have the cool "Fifty" name as part of the mounting. The interior was given a makeover that respects the original design, yet gives it a ton of modern flair. It starts with a set of custom leather bucket seats that power adjust to the perfect comfort position. Plus, there's a custom center console. With the carpets in an exterior-matching red, the total package is a very thoughtful and uniform presentation that is only seen on the highest quality builds. That cool two-spoke steering wheel with bright trim is pure 1950s cool. In fact, the whole dash stays true to the original, right down to the AM radio that's still on display. But this one was built to be a cruiser, that's why the real tunes come from a modern AM/FM/CD stereo with modern Bluetooth located in the overhead console. Plus, the original gauge package is supplements by a custom auxiliary panel so you always know what's going on under the hood. And power windows and modern R134a air conditioning means you can share this custom interior with the world and still say as cool as you look.
Grab your sunglasses before opening the hood. The kind of budget people would send on their whole restoration was utilized just for what went into this engine bay. The valve covers, intake, air toppers, firewall, fender walls, pulleys, radiator pipes, and so much more is polished to a mirror-like shine. In fact, we dare you to find one more area where there could be an investment in brightness. But when you look beyond the award-worthy shine, you'll see a 239 cubic-inch flathead V8 that has been built for reliable performance. It now features a double set of dual carburetors and an aluminum radiator with eclectic fan. The V8 makes a seriously sweet rumble from the glasspack dual exhaust, and you're in complete control of the powerband thanks to the three-speed manual transmission with overdrive. And going down the road is easy thanks to features like the air bags in the rear.
