A simply stunning low mileage candidate for the preservation category of any concours. This car has covered a scant 36,879 miles from new & is in impeccable order thoughout.
The car completely lacks any appreciable signs of wear found on higher mileage cars & has to be driven to be believed. The steering has no play whatsoever. The swich gear no wear to the surrounding paintwork. A detailed history file comes with the car listing the various owners though the years iincluding famed racing driver Phil Hill in California. A bill of sale in the history file lists the car as having sold in the distant past for the princely sum of One US Dollar along with other unspecified considerations.
The body is a quailty affair by McNear of Brookline Massachusetts taking the form of an elegant limousine. Mcnear bodied at least 10 other silver ghosts other examples of which are extant today, along with assorted other brands. The McNear lineage extends back decades in to the times of carriage making for its better heeled Boston Brahmin clientele.
Paintwork is the American equivalent of Masons Black, Masons being the UK name of the ubiquitous suppliers of Black paint to Rolls Royce & nothing to do with the those travelling men on the level or in the Square. It is in fine order & to show standards.
The interior of the car is beautifully preserved with grained black epi style leather to the doors & arm rests. Original fabric covers the seats front & back & is fine order. The dash board has a fine crackled finish where the original paint has shrunk, impossible to replicate in a restoration. A smokers hatch is fitted to the roof affording light to the interior.
The engine starts instantly & runs in silence. It presents beautifully under the bonnet with gleaming copper & brass evident wherever one looks. All the important bits such as the aluminium undertrays are in situ, present & correct. Various owners requesites in silver sit in their appointed places in the rear of the interior. A big Klaxon is fitted to the engine side of the bulkhead.
The overall condition of the car is a credit to the last owner of over a decade. Many hours have been spent cleaning the underside components, bulling up the brightwork & generally ensuring the car to be in show order thoughout.
A good history comes with the car with bills from varied specialists including Alan Glew & RR&B Garages. An original spare parts cataloge comes with the car as do reprints of the owners manual detailing the correct operation of a 40/50hp Rolls-Royce Motor Car. The brass AA badge is being retained by the last owner where it will take pride of place on his next Ghost.
I have to stress what a wonderful time warp this car is. You realy need to come & see it to appreciate how fine an example it is. The car will fit well in any collection but by the same token is ready for extended use & touring should this be the new owners remit.

Nåväl, damer och herrar, idag dyker vi in i den lysande historien om ett varumärke som alltid har inneburit själva essensen av brittisk lyx och hantverk - Rolls-Royce.Vår historia börjar vid förra sekelskiftet när två visionärer, Charles Rolls och Henry Royce, beslutade att gå samman. År 1904 föddes den allra första Rolls-Royce, Rolls-Royce 10 hp. Det var en blygsam början för ett företag som skulle omdefiniera bilens överlägsenhet.
Men det var inte förrän 1907 som Rolls-Royce verkligen gjorde sin stämpel med introduktionen av Silver Ghost. Den hyllades som "Världens bästa bil" och satte gulstandard för lyxkörning. Med sin tystlåtna motor och utsökta hantverk var det en symbol för överflöd och förfining.
1920-talet förde oss Rolls-Royce Phantom I, en ikon för sin tid. Det var den första Rolls-Royce med en 6-cylindrig motor och lade grunden för den legendariska Phantom-serien. Detta var eran när Maharadjor i Indien beställde specialbyggda Rolls-Royces som var inget mindre än bilpalats.
Snabbspola till efterkrigsåren, och vi har Silver Cloud, en symbol för det brittiska efterkrigsoptimismen. Silver Cloud var elegans personifierad, med sina flytande linjer och handgjorda interiörer. Det var valet för kungligheter, kändisar och kaptenar inom industrin.
Men om vi pratar om Rolls-Royces lyx i sin fulländning, är det Rolls-Royce Phantom VI som graciöst dök upp i våra liv från 1968 till 1991. Det här var en bil som gjorde uttalandet att "om du måste fråga priset kan du inte ha råd det." Anpassning var nyckelordet, och Phantom VI var en canvas för världens rikaste för att uttrycka sina unika smaker.
Nu är det omöjligt att diskutera Rolls-Royce utan att nämna Rolls-Royce Corniche. Producerad från 1971 till 1995 var det en cabriolet- och coupéversion av Silver Shadow. Corniche var den ultimata grand tourern, en bil för dem som ville färdas över kontinenter i absolut lyx.
Men, ack, även de mäktigaste måste möta sin nedgång, och Rolls-Royce var inget undantag. Företaget genomgick ekonomiska prövningar på 1970- och 80-talen, vilket ledde till övertagandet av Vickers plc. Sedan kom den kontroversiella ägandeperioden av BMW och Volkswagen, som delade entusiasterna.
Rolls-Royce återfick fotfästet under BMW-ägande, och det nya millenniet förde oss Rolls-Royce Phantom VII, en återgång till företagets rötter av kompromisslös lyx. Phantom VII var ett vittnesmål om brittisk ingenjörskonst och hantverk.
Och det, damer och herrar, för oss till idag. Rolls-Royce fortsätter att producera några av de mest overdådiga, specialtillverkade fordon på planeten, en symbol för brittisk imperium som inte har falnat med tiden. Anden av Sir Henry Royce och Charles Rolls lever vidare i varje bil som bär Spirit of Ecstasy, ett vittnesmål om det bestående arvet av brittisk bilöverlägsenhet.
