Starting life as a Freestone & Webb Saloon, the car was delivered new on one Major Stevens who drove it until 1949. It then passed thorough several more English owners before being fully restored by Marque specialists Elmdown Engineering where it received its current Vanden Plas style open touring body.

The car has recently been inspected by Marque specialists VBE restorations who confirmed the car to be matching numbers with original gear box, engine, axles & about as correct as it could be. They would welcome a call should a buyer wish to further discuss their findings.

The car has a patinated original feel to the interior & coachwork rather then being of the freshly restored variety. It is in mechanically fine fettle driving extremely well & is fast with a very strong engine allowing for 80mph effortless cruising. The car has been in Australia for over a decade where it was used regularly for attendance at assorted Bentley gatherings & is well known in Australian Bentley circles.

The maroon fabric exterior is in fine order & presents well. The wings are painted black. To the interior is patinated older cream leather with dark maroon carpets. The hood is a little sun-bleached & would benefit from replacement were it anyone's intention ever to put it up.

We will be UK registering the car over the next few weeks. It is currently UK taxes paid having been imported by RJJ freight in Felixtowe & has the requisite paperwork to prove this.

About Bentley
Before becoming a mere subsidiary to Rolls-Royce, Bentley was an independent Automaker famous for the "fastest lorries in the world" e.i Bentley 4½ Litre.

Good ol' Bentley boys (A group of wealthy British motorists, mainly Woolf Barnato, Sir Henry "Tim" Birkin, steeplechaser George Duller, aviator Glen Kidston, S.C.H. "Sammy" Davis, and Dr Dudley Benjafield ) -in their trusty Bentley cars- took four consecutive victories at 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1924, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930

In 1931 Bentley was taken over British Central Equitable Trust that later proved to be a front for Rolls-Royce Limited. Unhappy with his role at Rolls-Royce, W.O. Bentley left the company when his contract expired in 1935 duly joining Lagonda. This was beginning of which ultimately led Bentley cars to become more or less badge-engineered Rolls-Royce.
