With the introduction of the Bentley Brooklands in 1992 it had been announced that the production of the Bentley Mulsanne S as well as that of the Bentley Eight was discontinued. Aimed to appeal to luxury car buyers who might not have had a Bentley on top of their shopping list this new car was the outcome of Rolls-Royce's ability to respond to recession.
Sales had dropped almost 50 % the previous years and forced the company to concentrate on a leaner production at Crewe (Mulliner Park Ward was relocated there and the London factory had been closed). The sporting connotations were reflected in the name Booklands - a racing circuit having been in the headlines during the 30s quite frequently with Bentleys achieving speed records and a new sports style centre console gearchange to the electronically controlled 4-speed automatic gearbox. The Bentley Brooklands benefitted from micro-computer technology which controlled areas including the suspension, instrument displays and air-conditioning
This stunning example is finished in un-marked Forrest Green and has to be one of the best examples available today. From first sight it is clear that this Brooklands has been meticulously maintained with no cost spared, this statement however is backed up by the extensive document file, showing the eye-watering amount spent to make sure L815 TTU is presented in excellent condition.
The majority of bills are from Bentley main agents, there are also stacks of bills from the renowned P&A Wood, and N Sandell.
In our showroom and ready for viewing.

Before becoming a mere subsidiary to Rolls-Royce, Bentley was an independent Automaker famous for the "fastest lorries in the world" e.i Bentley 4½ Litre.
Good ol' Bentley boys (A group of wealthy British motorists, mainly Woolf Barnato, Sir Henry "Tim" Birkin, steeplechaser George Duller, aviator Glen Kidston, S.C.H. "Sammy" Davis, and Dr Dudley Benjafield ) -in their trusty Bentley cars- took four consecutive victories at 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1924, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930
In 1931 Bentley was taken over British Central Equitable Trust that later proved to be a front for Rolls-Royce Limited. Unhappy with his role at Rolls-Royce, W.O. Bentley left the company when his contract expired in 1935 duly joining Lagonda. This was beginning of which ultimately led Bentley cars to become more or less badge-engineered Rolls-Royce.
