Bentley S2 4 door Standard Steel Saloon 1960

General description : 1960 Bentley S2 4 door Standard Steel Saloon

Chassis number: B190BS
Registration number: VNR800

Subject of a Nut & Bolt body off restoration; this car has a photographic file detailing the extensive works undertaken to it.  Since then it hads covered jsut a few hundred shake down miles.

The car is finished in traditional Tudor over Shell Grey with the paint being flawless.  The chassis had the same level of detail attended to it whilst the body was off being restored to as new.  The interior hides were in fine condition so pleasingly  were retained having been recoloured & retained making the cabin a pleasant place to be.

A fully nut & bolt restored car like this makes a lovely every day driver or a cherished classic to be used on high days & holidays.  This example is as fine as any we have had & is not expensive conidering the massive works undertaken upon it The vast sums spent in bringing it up to this standard.

Cars like this speak for themselves.  Need we say more?

About Bentley
Before becoming a mere subsidiary to Rolls-Royce, Bentley was an independent Automaker famous for the "fastest lorries in the world" e.i Bentley 4½ Litre.

Good ol' Bentley boys (A group of wealthy British motorists, mainly Woolf Barnato, Sir Henry "Tim" Birkin, steeplechaser George Duller, aviator Glen Kidston, S.C.H. "Sammy" Davis, and Dr Dudley Benjafield ) -in their trusty Bentley cars- took four consecutive victories at 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1924, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930

In 1931 Bentley was taken over British Central Equitable Trust that later proved to be a front for Rolls-Royce Limited. Unhappy with his role at Rolls-Royce, W.O. Bentley left the company when his contract expired in 1935 duly joining Lagonda. This was beginning of which ultimately led Bentley cars to become more or less badge-engineered Rolls-Royce.
