Bentley Turbo R L 1997

General description : 1997 Bentley Turbo RL LWB

An immaculate long Wheel base Bentley Turbo RL having covered just 32,000 miles from new.  We supplied the car previously to the current French owner at 23,000 miles & 7 years ago.  Since then it has lead a cossetted life being always gargaed & regularly service whilst covering minimal miles by the current elderly owner whoms declining health dictates the sale.

The car is finished in immacilate sherwood green paint with unmarked beige leather piped in green to the interior.  The woodwork is fine burr walnut thoughout edged in satinwood.

We are collecting the car from its French home later this week & will re-photograph it upon arrival.  This is one of those rare low mileage cars that has always been garaged & is in pristine condition in addition to having been well maintained.

About Bentley
Before becoming a mere subsidiary to Rolls-Royce, Bentley was an independent Automaker famous for the "fastest lorries in the world" e.i Bentley 4½ Litre.

Good ol' Bentley boys (A group of wealthy British motorists, mainly Woolf Barnato, Sir Henry "Tim" Birkin, steeplechaser George Duller, aviator Glen Kidston, S.C.H. "Sammy" Davis, and Dr Dudley Benjafield ) -in their trusty Bentley cars- took four consecutive victories at 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1924, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930

In 1931 Bentley was taken over British Central Equitable Trust that later proved to be a front for Rolls-Royce Limited. Unhappy with his role at Rolls-Royce, W.O. Bentley left the company when his contract expired in 1935 duly joining Lagonda. This was beginning of which ultimately led Bentley cars to become more or less badge-engineered Rolls-Royce.
