General description :
Starting in 1933 BMW was able to break away from the outdated designs of the Dixi with the new six-cylinder Type 303. Its first big appearance was the immensely popular ride "2,000 km through Germany". Starting with the 303 platform, the 309 and the 315 were developed. As the clientele demanded more power, the sporty two-seater with 3 carburetors was developed. With the very reliable six-cylinder engine and 55 hp from two liters of displacement, the Roadster was very popular. Only the BMW 328 could beat it. Today, the Type 319/1 is a rarity as only 100 units were built. Our BMW 319/1 Roadster was delivered on May 10th 1935 to Georg von Hessen in Darmstadt (Germany). After the war, the car was shipped to the US. It has been driven in Germany for many years and has a certificate from the BMW Classic Center. The previous owner restored it and a comprehensive photo documentation with about 600 pictures is available. This car is serviced at the first address for historical BMWs and thus ready for immediate use.
