General description :
The 1953 Buick Skylark is the culmination of 50 years of Buick ingenuity. '53 was the first year for Buick to showcase the 322 CID Nailhead V8 as well as their first year for a 12-volt electrical system. The Skylark was a fully optioned car including power windows, power brakes, full carpeting, and a ""Selectronic"" AM radio. Buick built 1,690 Skylarks in 1953 and listed new for just north of $5000. At the time, the average new car cost was around $1650 making the Skylark over three times the average price. The limited production of this car makes it one of the most collectible Buicks to date. As you can see, the restoration on this car is simply stunning. With attention to detail in every regard, you can rest assured adding this car to your collection will elevate you to a whole new level. From the correct interior materials to the correct bolts, this car surely won't disappoint. The engine and transmission have been completely rebuilt to original specs. Having a car this stunning runs and drives as well as it looks. Finished in Majestic White with a Helsinki Red and White interior, you will hard pressed to find a more accurate representation of this highly collectible vehicle. 1 of 1690 produced If an inaccurate automobile price is inadvertently listed on this Website, Ellingson Motorcars LLC reserves the right to NOT honor the erroneous price. Buick, today an American automobile division of the American manufacturer General Motors (GM), was founded in 1899 as the Buick Auto-Vim and Power Company, making it the oldest car make in the US.
To us, the most memorable models in Buick's line up have to be the late 40's Roadmasters and 60's stylish Rivieras with strong Italian influences.
