Description : Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is proud to offer this beautiful maroon 1979 Chevrolet Camaro. This sleek 2nd gen Camaro has a lot going for it! The first thing you'll notice is the gorgeous paint, which is almost a metallic ruby color, and is highlighted by tasteful gray metallic stripes. The functional cowl hood adds to its muscular appearance and helps evacuate excess heat from the engine bay. Under the hood is a stout 400 CID V8, which is backed by a 4-speed automatic transmission. The peppy 400 is topped by a QuickFuel 4BBL carb on an aluminum Edelbrock Performer intake, which feeds the aluminum Edelbrock heads. Coated long tube headers funnel the exhaust into the dual exhaust setup, providing enhanced performance and the muscle car sound that one expects from a Camaro. Ignition is provided by MSD, while a massive aluminum radiator helps keep the mill running in the green zone. A B&M Quicksilver ratchet shifter controls the 700R4 automatic and allows for some "slap happy gear banging" when it's in manual shift mode. This sleek Camaro is riding on some attractive American Racing Torque Thrust aluminum wheels, which are wrapped with sticky Nitto NT555G2 performance radials (P225/45ZR17 up front, and P275/40ZR17 out back). Combine the sticky Nittos with the assistance of the traction bars out back, and this puppy can lay down some serious rubber when one stabs the go pedal! The brakes have been upgraded to handle the extra oomph that the powertrain puts out, with slotted and drilled rotors at all 4 corners...no drum brakes here! Inside, the familiar Camaro interior looks nearly like it did in 1979, with black synthetic leather seating, black trim, and black carpet; all of which are in good condition. The dash has received a full set of AutoMeter ProComp gauges where the original GM gauges were, and they provide great readability. Additional features and options on this 1979 Camaro include Air Conditioning, Aluminum Wheels, AM/FM/XM/CD head unit with Bluetooth, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Radial Tires, Seat Belts, Tilt Steering Wheel, and Vinyl Interior. Camaros in this condition don't last long, so call or email our Houston Showroom ASAP!
