Fiat Dino Coupé 1973

General description : The team at Hilton & Moss are delighted to be handling the sale of this very charming 1971 Fiat Dino 2400 – VIN 4792. Manufactured between 1966 and 1973 the Dino was commissioned by Enzo Ferrari himself to homologate the V6 engine for Ferraris Formula 2 racing cars. It wasn’t until 1969 where the 2.4 litre (2400) Dino was released at the Turin Motor show, the car benefited from a larger more powerful engine (178BHP), a new dog leg gearbox, bigger brakes and independent rear suspension.
This particular Dino started its life in Italy before being imported to the UK in January 2016. The car has a fully documented list of owner and has had just two UK keepers.
Whilst in Italy between 2013 and 2015 the car underwent a major mechanical and cosmetic restoration. A full respray was completed in the cars original colour Azzuro Metallizzato along with a major dismantle and rebuild of all mechanical components resulting in a fabulous looking and driving vehicle. No expense was spared in bringing this Dino up to a brilliant standard with only the finest of parts and material used including Glasuirt paint & primer. The cars vast history folder documents the finer details of the work.
The car pre restoration was an incredibly rust-free example requiring very little metal work and retaining original features including the original chassis stamped bonnet. The cars history folder displays images from throughout the body repair, preparation and paint stages which took 1.5 years to complete due to the care and detail taken.
During the restoration in Italy an interior re-fresh was completed with the correct Fiat 132 white velvet cloth used throughout, a new carpet set was fitted and original parts were always retained where possible.
Since the cars import into the UK in 2016 in excess of £14,500 has been spent to keep the car in top order. The car has been maintained by 24Hundred a leading global Dino expert. Upon import they completed a full inspection of the vehicle and used their expert knowledge to tweak and adjust the car for the perfect drive. They have since maintained the car with a no expense spared attitude most recently rebuilt the carburettors, replaced the water pump and cooling hoses, replaced the thermostat and given the car a major electrical refresh.
The car has been freshly serviced with a new alternator and starter motor fitted for further piece of mind prior to sale.
The quality of this cars restoration is evident upon viewing and so good in fact that the car appeared on Classic car Magazines feature ‘Smart Buys’ written Quentin Wilson.
This is a fabulous opportunity to own a very special Dino that has had far in excess of its current value spent during the restoration. The car is available for immediate viewing and underside inspection is welcome.

About Fiat
Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino (FIAT to you and I) was founded by Giovanni Agnelli in 1899. Their first car 3 ½ CV had a strong resembledence to contemporary Benz, only 25 examples were built. By 1910 Fiat had established itself as Italia's biggest car manufacturer and expanded to the US, where a new plant was built in Poughkeepsie, NY.

At that time Fiat cars were big and luxurious barges for the wealthy or barking mad racing cars like S76 , The beast of Turin, with its 290HP 28.5-liter, four-cylinder engine.

However, today Fiat is better reknown for its small symphatic peoples carriers, Topolino, 500 "Cinquecento" and 600.

What ever your favorite Fiat is, you'll find it for sale here at www.classicdigest.com
