General description : 1983 Ford F100 1 Family Owned Survivor 302 V8 Auto Short Bed Power Steering PDB
Here we have a 1983 Ford F100 XLT for sale. This truck is a 1 Family owner pick up that's only showing 66K miles on it. It features the original paint and is in excellent condition. The gentleman we bought it from went with his “Pops” to the Ford dealership when it was bought new. This is a gorgeous truck and amazing find for anyone looking for a clean short bed F100. As you can clearly see this truck was stored out of the weather and has always been extremely well cared for. The previous owner put a little over 20K miles on it after he got it from his father who had put the first 40K miles on it. We can clearly see it was loved and appreciated appropriately. Every panel is rock solid with no major dents or signs of abuse. Down the sides are straight and all the gaps are even and symmetrical. Inside the bed it has a bedliner, but underneath it is all solid and in excellent condition as well. It's done in the factory two tone Desert Tan and Light Desert Tan color scheme. The paint is in remarkable condition for its age with only some light aging due to knicks and wear. It still has a beautiful luster that will appreciated at any cruise-in or car show. All the trim down the sides and on the tailgate is also beautiful along with all the emblems. Across the front we can see the grill is all excellent as well and that the front bumper is equally impressive. Also, you can see that every piece of glass is stunning and that all the seals and weather stripping is good. TO finish off the exterior it's sitting on the factory 15” Wheels that sport the white line Vercelli tires.
Next we will look at the interior of this '83. On the inside you are sure to be impressed as it looks to be mostly original. It's done the complimentary tan color scheme that has the wood grain accents. First thing you notice when you open the doors is how great the door panels are in this truck. They have an excellent fit and show no signs of abuse. It has the standard crank windows that go up and down with ease. We can also see the at it has the bench seat option that's done in vinyl. The seat cover is just as impressive, and all the padding and springs ride excellent as well. Both the carpet and the headliner have a great fit and look amazing as well. Looking at the dahs we can see that it also has the woodgrain accent as well. The factory gauges are in amazing condition along with the factory steering wheel. It has had new gauges added under the dash to keep a better eye on the Temp, Amp, and Oil Pressure. The dash is all in great condition with only a couple of small cracks showing. We can also see that this 83 has the original radio and it is working as well.
Finally, we will get to the driveline of this Ford. Under the hood it's powered by the original 302 V8 engine that's set up with the original Autolite 2150 2 Barrel Carb. It's dressed in the factory style air cleaner, and valve covers. As you can see all the engine bay is rock solid and looks as close to factory as you can ask for. This F100 comes set up with Power Steering and Power Brakes with Disc up front and drums out back. The 302 is mated to the AOD Automatic Transmission that goes out back to the 8.8 Ford Rear End with 3.55 Gears. For exhaust it has manifolds with single muffler and dual rear exiting pipes. When you look under this truck it all looks to be solid from the frame to the floor pans and bed. The inner rockers are all rock solid as well. All the suspension looks to be stock and is in great condition for its age. On the highway you couldn't ask for a better running and driving truck. It handles with ease and is a blast to cruise.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
