Ford Hi Boy 5.7L LS1 1932

General description : 1932 Ford Dearborn Deuce The 1932 Ford is a staple in the world of classic cars.  No Street Rod collection could be considered complete without one.  In fact, there are collectors that specifically keep around just 32's and there are entire shows dedicated to these special cars.  Henry Ford introduced the Model B in 1932 and saw great success but had no clue that years later those cars would be the base on which Hot Rodding and Street Rodding was established.  Due to their popularity and the unfortunate nature of original steel rusting, the need for aftermarket bodies became very apparent as the hobby grew.  There are a large number of manufactures out there but not all are created equal.  After being in this industry for so long it is clear there is 1 that sits at the top and that is the Dearborn Deuce.  They have become the kings in that market because not only do they make a great looking roadster they are the premier manufacturer of strong all steel bodies in the world.  These Detroit designed bodies also solved one of the few problems with the '32 Roadster, the convertible top.  Gone are the days of having to check the weather to decide if it was going to be a top on or off day before leaving the garage.  These bodies have a fully disappearing convertible top that never has to be uninstalled.  The 1932 Ford you see here is a beautifully built car that was completed in 2005.  Don't let that year fool you because this car fits in just as well today as it did when finished.  The design was very forward thinking and future proofed so even in 2024 it is a stunning car.  It was built by the team at Rucker Performance who were known for their extremely high quality custom car and bike builds.  One very cool thing is this car was constructed in the early days of Youtube and the build was documented on their channel.  The steel Dearborn body is in excellent condition throughout and painted in an absolutely beautiful Lamborghini Yellow color (Giallo Flash Orion Metallic) that has a very clean finish.  It is almost a shame to say the car is "Yellow" because it is so much more than that.  As you walk around the car the color changes depending on your angle and the light with a dazzling mix of Gold, Copper and warm Yellow hues.  It really is slick.  It suits the car very well and you will find this same color was applied to many areas of the car for a very cohesive look.  The top is done in Black canvas and is in great condition.  As mentioned prior, the design to have it tuck away into the rear body panel is a perfect idea and opens the car up to a much bigger audience because many avoid roadsters due to that clunky top they have to store in their garage.  The custom 4 piece steel hood features 3 rows of louvers which are the ultimate Street Rod touch.  It also has the tear drop taillights in back with the Blue dots which is another nod to traditional style.  The headlights are a very unique being fully chromed with etched in flames and add a lot to the look compared to the plain circles you normally see.  The car has a really nice stance and rolls around on a set of American Racing Torq Thrusts.  It has 14s up front and 15s in rear with a taller tire for the ultimate Highboy look. Similar to being an early Youtube featured build, this car was ahead of its time in a few other ways as well.  Look no further than under the hood to find a 5.7L Corvette LS1 motor.  The car was clearly a trendsetter as LS swaps have become huge in the car customizing community but when this car was built that was all a new concept.  Not only does the motor provide all the power you could ask for but it has been beautifully dressed up with chrome and painted to match Lamborghini Yellow components everywhere you look.  It starts up smoothly and sounds perfect.  Backing the motor is a 4L60E automatic that shifts through the gears very smoothly.  Take peak under the car and you will find it is just as clean as the rest.  The custom frame, transmission, rear end, almost EVERYTHING is nicely painted.  It is a very well built, well thought out car.   The interior of the car is all custom and where you will find some other very unique features.  When was the last time you saw a '32 Roadster with power windows and an AC system?  Well you are looking at one.  Every drawback you can think of when it comes to Roadster ownership has been completely eliminated on this car.  The two tone Tan and Brown leather on the bench seat is in excellent condition and it has a folding center armrest.  Through the beige carpet is a Lokar push button shifter and the emergency brake handle.  The dash is all cleanly painted with painted to match AC adjustable vent mounts.  On the surface are nice Classic Instrument gauges in a custom bezel and on top are thin openings for the defroster.  On the lower section of the dash is where you will find the Vintage AC controls, vents and the added stereo system.  In front of the driver is a nice Ididit polished tilt column with an aftermarket steering wheel.  The trunk of the car is nicely upholstered as well and houses a 6 CD changer.  From front to rear this car is a beautiful work of art and is a step above your average '32 Roadster.  This is a really special car that was easily worth well over 6 figures in the Street Rodding prime.  You couldn't ask for a better built Highboy to drive and enjoy.       It could be yours for $79,000.00!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
