General description :
The most rare and desirable of the W111 series is the right-hand drive 280SE with the 3.5L engine. Only 245 of these were completed during a brief window from the end of 1969 to July 1971 when manufacturing of the W111 product line ended.
In 2017 Hemmels discovered this motorcar in Singapore where it had been maintained to an exceptional standard and scarcely driven. Since its acquisition we have kept this motorcar with other rare gems in the Hemmels Vault.
We’re very excited to announce the availability of this 280SE with a guaranteed production slot in Q1 2020 for a full Hemmels restoration. Originally finished in the regal colours of silver with blue interior, the motorcar can be styled as per the factory specification or with any paint, interior and options the client desires.
Making an exceptional and coveted acquisition for the most discerning classic car connoisseur, the rare Mercedes-Benz 280SE 3.5L RHD restored by Hemmels is perfect as a luxury daily driver or collection showpiece.
1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SE Coupé w111 is listed for sale on ClassicDigest in Cardiff by Shawn Eastman for £89000.

The Mercedes-Benz 280SE Hochkühler is a rare and highly sought-after variant of the W111 series of luxury cars produced by Mercedes-Benz from 1961 to 1971.
The Hochkühler, which translates to "high radiator" in German, was distinguished by its vertically oriented grille design, which gave the car a more traditional and classic appearance compared to the Flachkuhler (low grille) model. The Mercedes-Benz 280SE Flachkuhler, also known as the "flat radiator" or "low grille" model, is a rare variant of the W111 series of luxury cars produced by Mercedes-Benz from 1961 to 1971.
The 280SE Flachkuhler was distinguished by its distinctive low, horizontal grille design, which gave the car a sleek and modern appearance. It was also equipped with a range of high-end features, such as power steering, air conditioning, and leather upholstery.
