Uniquely important in the history of the 911 series and scarcely available, having been in production for only two years (1976-1977).
Preceded by the 2.7 litre engine variant which began the impact absorbing bumper series, the Carrera 3.0 continued the body line but offered much improved performance. In contemporary road test the Carrera 3.0 posted quicker 0-60mph times than the 911 Turbo!
Key to its appeal is the 2,993 cc engine, using the same die-cast aluminium crank case as the then newly introduced 930 or 911 Turbo. The Carrera 3.0 engine was developed from the power unit of the very rare Carrera 3.0 RS.
Finished in the much desired Minerva Blue metallic and set off by the sporty tan & plaid interior, both testify to sparing and careful use. Equipped with the extraordinarily rarely specified steel sunroof and five speed gearbox, this particular specification package is perhaps unique.
Our car comes with a lovely file which contains numerous invoices of works carried out over the years and multiple previous MOT’s. The car comes from a large private collection, the previous owner had an on site mechanic to keep the cars on the button and in superb condition.
