General description :
Buick celebrated it's 50th anniversary in 1953. To mark that milestone, they introduced their first production V8 engine, and gave car collectors and enthusiasts a modern classic; the Skylark of which only 1,690 were produced. Apart from the unique design, the Skylark was the most luxuriously equipped Buick with power brakes, power steering, power windows and a power antenna for the foot-controlled 'Selectronic' radio. This stunning "Matador Red" Skylark has benefitted from a full frame-off restoration. This is body number 72, sold new on Februari 9th 1953 to Mrs. Evelyn Wilson by a dealer in Michigan. The name of the first owner was attached to the steering wheel hub. This particular Skylark was used by Danbury Mint for their scale model. One of the most sought after postwar American classics! Dutch registration.
1953 Buick Skylark 1953 - Topzustand is listed sold on ClassicDigest in Alphen aan den Rijn by Auto Dealer for €135000.

Buick, today an American automobile division of the American manufacturer General Motors (GM), was founded in 1899 as the Buick Auto-Vim and Power Company, making it the oldest car make in the US.
To us, the most memorable models in Buick's line up have to be the late 40's Roadmasters and 60's stylish Rivieras with strong Italian influences.
