Exterior

This gleaming Defender 110 crew cab has been completely transformed into an incredible ‘Spectre’ evocation with an array of bespoke touches – all carried out by marque specialists, Landroid Motors. The first step in the rebuild process was a full strip down to its bare bones. With everything removed the team meticulously repaired and replaced any worn areas before a fresh coat of Santorini Black was applied throughout. In line with the film-used SVX Defenders this one sports a number of Spectre-style upgrades including a full exterior roll cage, front nudge bar, lifted suspension, winch, side steps, chequer plate steel trim, heavy duty alloys, and wider wheel arch flares to accommodate the larger rubber.

Interior

Inside the cabin you’ll find a similar attention to detail. The seats, dash, and door cards have all been fully re-upholstered in supple tan leather with hexagonal quilted stitching, a striking contrast against the menacing exterior paintwork. The dashboard has also been fitted with modern gauges, entertainment, and controls that seamlessly blend old with new. While the genuine ‘Spectre’ cars feature only basic equipment as needed for filming, this unique evocation has been treated to a custom and luxurious fit-out that additionally boasts heated seats, air conditioning, a touchscreen multimedia system, rear parking camera, and black Alcantara headlining.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

In March 2022 this stunning example was treated to a 5.7-litre GM LS6 V8 conversion costing the current owner an eye-watering £39,600! Sourced from a rare Mosler MT900 supercar and producing in excess of 400hp, the engine is a mighty impressive upgrade over the previously fitted Rover lump. This work was again carried out by Landroid Motors and included an uprated 6-speed automatic transmission capable of handling the engine’s power, a bespoke wiring loom and ECU, a high-flow alloy radiator, a stainless sports exhaust, etc, etc.

History File

First registered in October 1986 this Defender 110 double cab has had only 6 keepers from new. The current owner purchased it from marque specialists, Landroid Motors (the previous keeper), who painstakingly rebuilt it to their desired “Spectre” specification in 2020 for use as their company demonstrator. For performance to match the looks a 5.7-litre LS6 V8 engine was then shoehorned in at great expense, and the result is what you see here – an incredible custom build boasting not only significant mechanical upgrades but also a luxurious re-trim, all while still representing a faithful tribute to the famous film cars.

Prior to the rebuild the original donor vehicle showed only 52,800 miles on the odometer, and although the full drivetrain was replaced the mileage reading was kept original to allow consistency in the vehicle’s MOT history. The odometer now reads just 58,959 miles meaning that approximately only 6,000 miles have been driven since the full restoration was carried out.

About Land Rover
The rugged tale of Land Rover, born from the spirit of exploration and inspired by the legendary Jeep. Let's embark on a journey through the history of Land Rover, tracing its evolution and the iconic models that have conquered both off-road terrain and urban landscapes.

Act 1: The Birth of Land Rover (1948)
In the aftermath of World War II, Rover saw the need for a versatile, go-anywhere vehicle that could handle the demands of post-war life. Drawing inspiration from the Jeep, Maurice Wilks, Rover's chief designer, and his brother Spencer, Rover's managing director, conceptualized the first Land Rover. Launched in 1948 at the Amsterdam Motor Show, the Series I Land Rover was an instant hit, boasting simplicity, durability, and unparalleled off-road capabilities.

Act 2: Series Land Rovers (1950s-1970s)
The Series Land Rovers became the backbone of Land Rover's lineup. The Series II in 1958 and Series III in 1971 refined the design and introduced more creature comforts, while preserving the brand's commitment to off-road prowess. These models were workhorses on farms, military deployments, and adventurous expeditions.

Act 3: Range Rover (1970)
In 1970, Land Rover expanded its horizons with the introduction of the Range Rover. Combining luxury with off-road capabilities, the Range Rover defined a new segment of high-end, go-anywhere vehicles. Its success marked the beginning of Land Rover's transition from utilitarian workhorses to premium off-road vehicles.

Act 4: Discovery and Defender (1980s-1990s)
The 1989 launch of the Land Rover Discovery marked the brand's foray into family-oriented SUVs, blending off-road prowess with on-road comfort. Meanwhile, the iconic Land Rover Defender, the spiritual successor to the original Series Land Rovers, continued to capture the hearts of enthusiasts with its rugged design and unyielding capabilities.
